Supportive Training for All Levels: From Beginners to PR Chasers

 

The FIRST Train to Run Program is geared towards training for the upcoming MountainOne Steel Rail Races. This 10 week training will start on March 8th on Saturday mornings at 8:00AM.

The SECOND Train to Run Program begins on May 10th with the focus on the BHS July 4th 5K road race. Berkshire Running Foundation coaches and professionals from Berkshire Health Systems will be offering professional support and proper training for a successful 5K experience at the county’s most celebrated 5K race. More details to come for this training program!

Training program format:

  • Weekly group training runs hosted by BRF Ambassadors throughout the region. These workouts offer coaching, camaraderie, and the inspiration that comes from running with others. Our group training has been helping runners achieve their goals since 2011. No matter where you are on your running journey, your training will be supported in a welcoming atmosphere by coaches and ambassadors  who encourage you to pursue your goals and have fun.
  • If you are new to running or returning after a long break, we have a Principles of Training Group that meets at the Berkshire Running Center location and is perfect for just getting started or easing back into it.
  • Chasing that PR or just want to take your training to the next level? Our coaching team can meet you where you’re at and provide challenging workouts geared toward your racing and personal fitness goals. Plus, you’ll train with other runners at your level to help you stay motivated.
  • Keeping safety top of mind, workout pace groups will be kept small in number.

Each Group Training class is one hour long and held in a northern, central and southern Berkshire location; unless otherwise noted.

  • Adams Visitors Center: Adams, MA
  • Berkshire Running Center: Pittsfield, MA
  • Red Lion Inn: Stockbridge, MA

This training program will help you set yourself up for success with any of the distances you choose to tackle for the Steel Rail Races on May 18th.

  • Attend 4 sessions and earn a $20 gift card to Berkshire Running Center

  • Attend 8 sessions and earn a $50 gift card to Berkshire Running Center

Your training program will include weekly newsletters with pertinent information regarding the events and where and what your training should look like for you and your individual distance; whether you are running the 8K, Half marathon or Full marathon.

Special guest speakers will attend three of our weekly runs on the first Saturday of the month at Berkshire Running Center. Training sessions will address the fundamentals of run training so you progress safely and remain uninjured and motivated. We will help you structure a program that is appropriate for you and where you currently are in your fitness journey.
