DESCRIPTION
The Berkshire Health Systems 4th of July Road Race is an out-and-back 5K course on the parade route of Downtown Pittsfield’s Fourth of July Hometown Parade. The partnership between Berkshire Health Systems and Berkshire Running Foundation has created new opportunities for support, education and training to those in our community who would like to take part in this classic event. Proceeds from the race are distributed between the Pittsfield parade committee and behavioral health programming at Berkshire Health Systems.
As the lead sponsor, Berkshire Health Systems is supporting the following initiatives:
- A FREE six-week, in-person and online training program working with the trainers at Berkshire Running Center, with additional wellness support from BHS. The completion of the six-week training will be celebrated with a health and fitness exposition for race packet pick-up and last-minute training advice.
- FREE registration to children, encourages families to participate in the race together. All Berkshire County students in grades K-12 are offered this opportunity through BRF’s existing school-based programs.
For businesses interested in being a part of this event, or for any questions, please contact Shiobbean Lemme.
